Ed Lapiz was born on October 31, 1955, in Cebu City, Philippines. He grew up in a poor family and experienced many hardships and challenges in his childhood. Ed Lapiz Career
Ed Lapiz began his ministerial journey in 1985, when he organized prayer meetings in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who were hungry for the gospel. He facilitated Bible studies on a day-to-day basis until the number of attendees grew. He named his ministry Day by Day Christian Ministries, which reflects his vision of helping people grow in their faith and relationship with God every day. He returned to the Philippines in 1991, and established the first congregation in a small room at McDouton Building in Quezon City.
Ed Lapiz’s ministry grew rapidly, and he soon acquired a building in Leon Guinto Road in Manila, where he established the church administration. He also moved his base to Makati, where he acquired another building for his ministry.
He started holding worship services in cinema theaters like Shangri-La Mall, Glorietta and Makati Square until 2005, when he leased the Folk Arts Theater at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, which he dedicated as the Bulwagan ng Panginoon (Hall of the Lord)¹. The Bulwagan hosted Sunday worship services and performances from the church’s groups.
Ed Lapiz’s ministry expanded to various locations in the Philippines and abroad, reaching thousands of people with the message of hope and grace. He has planted churches in North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, where he continues to minister to OFWs and other nationalities. He also conducts seminars, conferences, retreats, and crusades to equip and empower believers for their spiritual growth and service. He has a passion for evangelism and discipleship, and he trains and mentors other pastors and leaders for the work of the ministry.
Ed Lapiz is also a prolific writer and a best-selling author. He has written over 50 books on various topics such as spirituality, leadership, and relationships. Some of his popular books are Kerygma, The Art of Living, and The Power of Positive Thinking.
