Subsequently, he pursued Civil Engineering at Yaba College of Technology, also located in Lagos. He developed an interest in acting during his time at Yaba College of Technology and joined the school’s drama club. He started his Nollywood career in 1987 with a major role in the movie, Deadly Affair.

He also became the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) in 2015, after a long legal battle with the former president, Ibinabo Fiberesima.
