Jim Obazee is a former executive secretary of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, and a special investigator appointed by President Bola Tinubu to probe the Central Bank of Nigeria and other government business entities. He is an accounting expert, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, and a certified strategic financial analyst from Harvard University. He has conducted investigations on several banks and financial institutions in Nigeria, and has also been involved in the implementation of the controversial corporate governance code that affected religious leaders in 2017.

Jim Obazee was born on March 28, 1965, in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. He attended Agbado Model Primary School 1, Edokpolor Grammar School, and Ebomisi Secondary School in Benin City.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Benin, a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Lagos, and a certification in strategic financial analysis from Harvard University.
He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, and a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management and the American Accounting Association.
