Kemi Nana Nandap Biography
Kemi Nana Nandap is the new Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), effective from March 1, 2024. Appointed by President Bola Tinubu, she succeeds Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju, whose tenure ends on February 29, 2024. Nandap becomes the third woman to lead the NIS, following in the footsteps of Rose Chinyere Uzoma and Amina Mohammed.
Nandap was born on June 3, 1966 in Zaria, Kaduna State. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Ilorin, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry.
Prior to her appointment as Comptroller-General, Nandap served as the Deputy Comptroller-General overseeing the Migration Directorate of the Service. She has also served in various Commands, including the service headquarters and the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA) Command, Lagos.

Before her appointment as Comptroller-General, Nandap served as Deputy Comptroller-General, overseeing the Migration Directorate of the NIS. Her career progression underscores dedication and expertise in immigration matters.
In 2022, Nandap assumed the role of Comptroller at the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA) Command in Lagos, succeeding CIS Abdullahi Dalhatu. During her tenure, she achieved notable successes, including a rigorous crackdown on human trafficking operations through the Lagos International Airport.
Furthermore, her dedication to security was highlighted by the interception of a pistol and bullets, leading to the arrest of a US-based Nigerian attempting to smuggle them into the country.
Prior to her important position at the Lagos International Airport, Nandap left a lasting mark as the Comptroller overseeing the Plateau State Command. During her tenure, she prioritized both infrastructural enhancements and human capital development initiatives. Her extensive experience includes serving in various Commands, including roles at the service headquarters.
In December 2021, Nandap was among the 24 Comptrollers elevated to Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration following their successful performances in a promotion exercise.
The President foresees that the new Comptroller-General will advance the ongoing reforms within the service and establish a robust framework for efficient and dedicated service delivery to Nigerians. Additionally, the President expects the Comptroller-General to enhance national security by implementing proactive and effective measures for border security and migration management.

Kemi Nana was married to the late Emmanuel Nanpah Nandap, a retired Lt. Col. who concluded his service in 1999. She has two children and lives in Lagos.
