Rauf Hassan PTI is the Central Information Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), a political party in Pakistan. He was appointed by former Prime Minister Imran Khan, the chairman of PTI, in May 2023.
He is also a member of the PTI Finance Board and a renowned strategist. He is the brother of Fawad Hassan, who was the principal secretary of Nawaz Sharif, another former Prime Minister and a political rival of Imran Khan.

Rauf Hassan was born in Lahore, the capital city of Punjab province, in a family of civil servants. His father was a senior bureaucrat who served in various positions in the federal and provincial governments. His mother was a teacher who instilled in him a passion for learning and reading. He has two brothers, Fawad Hassan and Asad Hassan, who are also influential in the political and media circles of Pakistan.
Rauf Hassan received his primary and secondary education from Aitchison College, a prestigious boarding school in Lahore. He excelled in academics as well as extracurricular activities, such as debating, writing, and sports. He developed an interest in politics and history from a young age, and was inspired by the vision and leadership of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the founder of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), another major political party in Pakistan.
Rauf Hassan pursued his higher education from the University of Oxford, where he studied Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE). He graduated with honors and was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to continue his studies at the University of Oxford.
He completed his Master’s degree in International Relations and wrote his thesis on the role of media in democracy. He returned to Pakistan and joined the civil service as a Foreign Service officer. He served in various diplomatic missions abroad, including the United Nations, before resigning from his post and joining PTI in 2022.

Rauf Hassan was appointed as the Central Information Secretary of PTI in May 2023, by Imran Khan, who was still the chairman of the party. He replaced Fawad Chaudhry, who had resigned from the post earlier.
