Hauser, whose full name is Stjepan Hauser, was born in Pula, Croatia, in 1986. He came from a musical family, as his mother played percussion and his sister became a journalist who covers music. He started his musical education at a young age, and finished his secondary school in Rijeka.
He studied law at the University of Zagreb, but soon realized that his true passion was the cello. He moved to London, where he finished his undergraduate studies with Natalia Pavlutskaya at Trinity College of Music.
