Yusuf Gagdi was born on November 5, 1980 (43 years) in the town of Gum-Gagdi in Kanam, Nigeria. He is the child of Mallama Hauwa’u Gagdi and Mallam Adamu Gagdi, who were both involved in civic service. He has six brothers and two sisters.
He received his early education at LEA Primary School, followed by GSS Gagdi for junior secondary school and GSS Dengi for senior secondary education.
He then pursued his tertiary education at various universities, obtaining a Bachelor of Social Science and Politics from Monash University, a Bachelor of Business Science and Economics from Monash Malaysia, a Master of International Business from Monash SA, a Postgraduate Diploma in Corporate Governance from Laureate, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Wits University.

Yusuf Gagdi Career
Yusuf Gagdi started his career as a civil servant in the Plateau State Civil Service, where he rose to the rank of Assistant Director in the Ministry of Information and Communication.
He also worked as a lecturer at the Plateau State Polytechnic, where he taught public administration.
He joined politics in 2011 and ran for the Pankshin North Constituency seat in the Plateau State House of Assembly. He was elected and served as a member of the House from 2011 to 2019, serving as the Majority Leader for eight years.
He ran for the House of Representatives in 2019 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to represent the Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency of Plateau State. He won the election and was sworn in on June 11, 2019.
He was appointed as the Chairman of the House Committee on Navy on July 25, 2019. He is also a member of the Committees on Appropriation, Defence, and Public Accounts.
