Bheka Mchunu’s Death
Bheka “Beekay” Mchunu, the renowned Ukhozi FM presenter and businessman, sadly passed away on Tuesday, 12 March 2024. He had been battling an undisclosed illness for many years, which had previously led to him being pulled off air after collapsing during a show in 2021. In 2022, he again fell ill while in the studio and could not complete his show. At that time, Mchunu had expressed his intention to seek help from traditional healers, as medical doctors had been unable to diagnose his condition.
Mchunu’s health issues were a concern for some time, and he had been in and out of the hospital over the past four years. On the day of his passing, he was rushed to the hospital after complaining about something on his chest. Unfortunately, he passed away while being transported to the hospital.
His death was confirmed by various accounts on social media, including his friend and former Ukhozi FM presenter Linda Sibiya. The news of his passing brought shock and sorrow to many, reflecting his beloved status and the impact he had made through his work in broadcasting and his contributions to the community.
